I’m not for calling some jobs with good ones and others bad ones, if they are jobs, or crafts, so they must be legal works. About those activities that are illegal; we should call them some other names, not job, craft, or work. Job as a word has a specific, social and verbal, meaning in the mind.

What we really need is to organize some activities that have no use for our society. The main benefit of work is to satisfy one’s needs and to serve the society to help it to be better. So; no one can say that the act of smoking is a work. A job, in general, is a positive affective action that leads to achieve benefit for people and for the workers themselves as they are paid salaries for doing their jobs.

But in our Arab society, there are a lot of useless jobs that have no benefit to the society. I don’t mean that benefit to the worker, but I mean that those jobs don’t serve other people.

There are some jobs that if we deleted from our society, it wouldn’t affect it, it wouldn’t make any difference. These jobs like: thee drummer, body guard, clown, register, dancer, and many other jobs that are found only in our Arab community.

One of the jobs that personally irritate me is the “Counselor”, it was like a fever during the latest years. The counselors are paid a very large salary. At the past, there were no counselors, as every manager could think and made the right decisions himself.

I remember a very strange job that was practiced in Egypt, a well-dressed man who is paid to go to the funeral of some one to give the impression that the dead person was important and great in his life time. This job was presented by Farid Shawky, an Egyptian movie star, in a very old movie.

For sorry, in our community; we may find many people go to work every morning and they are paid salaries for doing nothing. They are exactly like the scarecrow that farmers use to keep the birds away from the crops.

Your job, whatever it is, must be a useful one for you and for your society. You should feel by doing it that you serve people and do some thing useful.
