Fatal Mistakes | Alamir Kamal Farag

If any rebellion gave up its main goals and principles, it would turn to be a mere strife, armed robbery or even a pinching revolt, as Anwar Al-Sadat; the Egyptian ex-president called it. Also if any public case lost its moral criteria, it would be like a huge balloon that can be disappeared by just a pin prick. If any rebellion lost its belief of its goals, its members will be just mercenary who work only after being paid. Any struggle movement should be supported by order, accounting, control, and accurate observation; otherwise the national wealth would turn to be a free banquet from which every one wants to take as much as he can. Lexically, rebellion means an extemporaneous action, but it should be well organized to achieve its goals successfully. Basically the act of revolution is a temporary one; it ends as soon as its motifs die.

There is no one works as a revolutionist, and there is no revolution could last foe ever, as it always has time confined with achieving its goals. And as soon as its goals are achieved, it is over and every one back to his work, in their fields, factories, or whatever to help their country to develop and advance.

Any great revolution should stop for a while to evaluate the current phase, determine what was wrong and what was right, correct its faults, and rearrange its movement, then go forward again. The revolution leaders should be smart, search for every way to success and resist its loose. And if they lose once; they search for the reasons and change their plan to accommodate to the current situation. The true revolution leaders never commit the same fault twice.

The true revolution doesn’t depend mainly on the force of the weapon, but depends on negotiations and discussions, as the aim of the armed revolution is not to arouse mess, fear, or the desire of revenge. There was never a revolutionary movement got over an organized army, but what actually happens is that it may affect and weaken it, and finally force it to negotiate with them. The real reason of using weapon in the revolutionary movements is to force the other side to surrender and negotiate with the revolutionists, and then they could reach for a suitable solution for all.

The real affective revolution should be supported by a huge campaign on the different news media to present before the whole world its real situation and justify its strife, and its situation before the enemy should be definitive, strict, and powerful. And this is what is called the psychological war.

There are also some fundamentals that should be supported by the revolutionists. They should strengthen the relationships between them and the other countries. So they can get their sympathy with their case and the political support. The more countries the case is introduced to, the more support it will gain, and then universally supported.

Talking about the Palestine case, as a revolution, a strife, or whatever it may be called, had passed by many phases and complicated circumstances from its beginning till now. Concentrating on these phases that had many names; armed revolution, resisting Judaization, and negotiation, we will find that there are many unintentional fatal mistakes. We can find them out by a serious study for the events of the last 50 years. There are usual mistakes, and strategic ones. The strategic mistake is the fatal one that involves many victims and horrible consequences. The Boland pilot’s mistake is a good example for the strategic mistakes. He ignored all orders and warns that told him not to make a forced emergency landing in this bad weather at that time. But he did. And the result was the crash of the airplane and the president, his wife, and the most important politicians were dead.

Back to the Palestinian case and the faults which were committed, whatever these faults were serious or not, they were not committed by the Palestinian citizens, but by the politicians who were responsible for the case for more than 50 years. I aim to discuss these fatal mistakes, not to accuse any Palestinian of committing them. I also aim at making a profound study on the reasons behind its failure, as unless we study and practice the self-criticism to avoid these mistakes, the case will never reach to an end. It may last for other 50 years, it will be the eternal Arab wound, and the next years will be the worst as we have a well organized enemy, have good strategic plans, studies very well his steps, and achieve a goal after another, and every one knows very well what the goals of Israel. These goals are more than seizing the land, but they extend to more serious divesting goals.

Skyjacking an airplane, assassinations, and making decisions without consulting are fatal mistakes were committed by the leaders of the revolutionists in Palestine. Also there is no an organized system for work, the political corruption, the betrayal, espionage, raising seditions, and their refusal of Al-Sadat’s steps of negotiations, are also fatal strategic mistakes. We can not deny their boycott of Egypt, their refusal for Kiloton’s peace treaty, and finally the disunity of Fath and Hamas. What was mentioned before represents the most dangerous strategic mistakes which were committed by the Palestinians.

They made a mistake when they used the skyjacking as a means to strife and get the whole world’s attention to remind nations by their case. And the result was considering the Palestinians as terrorists. Their struggle for their case was ignored after their commitment of skyjacking and assassination.

Also assassination was another mistake. They did not make any difference between their enemy and their friend. They killed the ex-minister Yousif Al-Sebaey in Cuprous for his supporting to the Egypt-Israel peace treaty. And this crime proves that that the striver may turn to be a criminal and may attempts the life of who helped him and protected him one day.

Also they made a terrible mistake when they did not decide a definite organized administrative law for their work to organize their revolutionary actions. And the result was that their government was corrupted, it is even the most corrupted through the whole history. This is approved by some inquiries that never were answered. For example; where is the public property of the Palestinians? Where are the huge donations from the Arab countries and, from the whole world in general, are taken? And what is the secret behind being the ex-president Arafat milliard? And to where these billions were taken after his death, so; many questions and no answers. The Palestinian government became so corrupted that no one could trust it any more; even the child couldn’t trust that his little donations in the school might be in the right hand. Also the national community doesn’t trust the Palestinian government, billions after billions were paid for this government, and no one knows how they were spent, and to where these billions were taken. So some countries in Europe made the grants and donations conditioned by their knowledge for the ways these money are going to be spent in and to be sure that these donations are taken to the poor Palestinians. Also the Arab countries themselves now wonder if their donations are really for the poor Palestinian or what!

On the other side; we find name like Mohammad Dahlan and many others who became so rich and built their wealth on the account of the Palestinians and their case. There are some people who really can make use of wars; they even may wish that wars last for ever for their personal interests. For example; weapon suppliers, the national subsidy receivers, the food suppliers, the army needs suppliers, and also there are some people who make use of the reconstruction supplies. The (reconstruction) became a fake process just to gain money.

The Palestinians also made a mistake when they intervened in the inner affairs of the countries who host them like Jordan and Lebanon. The result was that hundreds of victims died in their fights, like what had happened in Jordan in 1970, and in Lebanon in 2007, and what was about to happen in Egypt when some Palestinians imported guns and plotted to destroy the Egypt’s activity of tourism. And many other plots in this respect were aborted by the Egyptian government. They also tried to pass through the Egyptian borders by force, and implied a political aggression.

They also built tunnels to use them to smuggle goods and weapons, and also it was said that the Palestinian government made a profit by making their people pay taxes for these tunnels. The owners of these tunnels made a huge wealth on the account of their country.

For the first ant the only time, some Palestinian tried to shoot some Egyptian officers on the borders between the two countries. This episode declared that there is a great danger coming through the Egyptian-Palestinian borders. When the Egyptian president Moubarak knew about this, his Excellency ordered not to stand up to the Palestinian citizens who were actually in Egypt at this time and were about 700,000 Palestinians. His Excellency ordered to help them to get their needs. At this time, Hamas tried to shoot again and threatened to make another attack on the Egyptian borders. And so, as a natural result; the president ordered to build a huge wall on the borders between Egypt and Gaza to protect Egypt from the Palestinian attacks.

Through the long history of the Palestinian case, Egypt supported it, and the Egyptians helped them many times through years. In spite of all this; they attacked Egypt’s borders and accused us of betrayal. They also attacked us in the websites and news media; it looks like a political blood sucking.

Some Palestinians and also many Arabs want to use Egypt to achieve their ambitions and treat it as a hostage. Getting back our whole land by both the power of war and peace is considered to be a betrayal in their point of view. They think that Egypt should have to stay under the control of the colonial forces by which they are still controlled up till now, they want to say “we all are the same, no one is better than any other one, we all are captured”!

The serious situation turned to be a mock one. It looks like when you help some one fell in a well and at the same time he tries to hurt your hand even he doesn’t wait till you get him out. Although he knows that he can’t go without your aid, he tries and tries to hurt you.

Some people may think that if there is a Palestinian criminal, so all of them are criminals too, and of course I will never commit such mistake of generalization. Yes, there are some groups of strict Palestinians, but the majority of them really appreciate the role of Egypt in helping them. This was proved when some Palestinians celebrated when Egypt won the African nations’ Championship. Their celebration was spontaneous which proves the true good feeling between the two peoples of Egypt and Palestine.

We must be aware of the differences between the true striver who fights his enemy even if he is armless, by his bare hands, and the other one who makes use of the current war to make wealth which they spend in the night clubs of Oman and Lebanon. We must know the difference between the captured one in a terrible cell, and the other who enjoys his time on the beautiful beaches. We must know the difference between the martyr Dalal Al-Maghraby and the betrayer spy; the son of Hassan Yousif the leader of Hamas group, who admitted by his spying on Hamas in the favor of Israel.

They also committed a mistake when they refused to join the ex-president Al-Sadat in his negotiations with Israel in 1975. The Palestinian case was in the priority of Al-Sadat’s first steps to achieve peace after his victory in 1973. All the Arab boycotted Egypt him and considered him as a betrayer. If they had joined him in these negotiations, they would have got their land back.

Another fatal mistake was committed when they agreed on the separation between Fath and Hamas. And now, after all these years there is no hope. Israel has widened their colonies there and has a strong strict government.

And actually, the Palestinians have committed another dangerous mistake when they made their serious case just a case controlled by some local systems of Iran and Syria to get their financial and political support, and also to get a comfortable housing for Khaled Meshael, the responsible for the political affairs of Hamas, and his men in Damascus.

The case of Palestine has two dimensions; the political national dimension and the religion one, so; it is not a case of a country, but a case of all Arabs and all Muslims around the world. This is supposed to help it to be more powerful and effective, but what we have to say is that the case should be in the responsibility of the Palestinians only, as the Arabs failed along the last 50 years. The Palestinians depend on the Arab, and this dependence looks like when a blind man asks a blind man to guide him. The case by this way had lost its effect. To help any revolution to success, it should be leaded by its true citizens to achieve its goals.

What is really strange about this case that is the most case internationally supported, and still there is no steps were taken forward. Some times I think that there are some fishy works behind it and make profits of this continuous war. May be those people refuse the withdrawal of the occupation forces for the sake of their fishy business which depends mainly on and also flourish by the state of war.

The Palestinian revolution had lost many of its political principles, so it was defeated. The political corruption of the Palestinian ruling system by its two elements; Fath and Hamas, represents the most corrupted ruling system ever.

The true revolutions are which well observed and corrected all the time. It is a renewable one, if the leaders of the revolutions found that their plan did not achieve the expected success, they seek for anew way at once to achieve their goals, but the Palestinian revolution did not achieve any success along 50 years, but lost many.

The Palestinian revolution, if we called, needs to be completely corrected beginning with the political unity, the first base, and working on a new constructive system, Then came the role of electing pure honest incorrupt elements to lead it. And this depends mainly on the Palestinians as they are the only who can deal with their case and negotiate. They can make use of all the other available options to get their land back.
